Boiled Dressing for Cabbage Salad

 
 

 

 
 

into double boiler put
2 tablespoons flour
2 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 level teaspoon dry mustard

mix all thoroughly

then break into sauce pan 2 eggs

and beat with dry ingredients.

add 1 1/2 cups milk and
1/2 cup weak vinigar or lemon juice

mix well

add 2 tablespoons butter or oil

Put on to cook in double boiler
stiring constantly until thick.

Strain and put in Jars.

 

A double boiler is a saucepan with a shallow pan that fits inside. The bottom pan is filled with water. Delicate ingredients are cooked in the top pan.
